And one year after I am writing again that my son is ONE year old. But now this story will be all devoted to Carlitos. My little big angel.
How it started:
Some facts:
Carlitos weight is nearly 9 Kg, his length is 75cm. He has dark brown hair, his skin is nicely tent no matter on the weather. HIs eyes are huge dark round moons and his smile is big as cut melon.
Carlitos is sun of our days. Together with Edie created great couple. Carlitos in his early life managed quite lot of accomplishments. He was forced to be better and better every day by his brother so he is developing very fast. He is already able to crawl perfectly, he started to walk a bit, he is climbing what ever you can see and he loves the most to climb the bed from there to table and reach the window is his daily mission.
He likes his routine. He LOVES eating, in Czech I would call him OTESANEK, there is nothing what he would not like to eat. Already now with his 8 teeth he is able to chew from meat to vegetables and fruits, creckers and other hard and soft stuff. Iam happy that he is eating everything even things which he should not, like sand from the san yards, dirt from the ground and he is also chewing everything…his most favourite things are shoes of his own or anybody else, tooth brush and holders from the wardrobe shelfs.
Also he still enjoyes milk also. I am not that strict with him like I was with Edie. I have to admit that since I have feeling that he might be a last baby of ours I try to enjoy breastfeeding and physical contact with my baby. I give him milk as much as he is asking for. sometimes 4 to 6 times per day. Always just shortly but a bit if he is already crawling over me and putting his head on my chest. It is soooo easy to read that he wants to have a small “shot” that if he is teething, if he is already tired or thirsty I just simply give him a bit.
He is total “tremendoso” “pixy” as Spanish language has this beautiful word. Because always when I am teling him NO, he is just smiling at me. It takes quite long time for him and my strong voice sometimes also slap over his hands to make him understand that there are things which he is not supposed to do. REALLY…….he is such a smily baby an easy going …..though he started to have his protesting behavior. He lies down to a floor and tries to scream. But it does not last long.
Carlitos same as Edie is very but very social. He loves mom of course the most so he still suffers from mommitis kind of. If I am not in the room he can play with anybody for hours with no problem. As soon as I appear he runs after me and sometimes start to cry a bit. Just like “Where where you”?…….. but almost anytime he is happy to meet new people. He is able to look deeply into the eyes of the others people and see the good insight. Because people tends to smile at him and play with him Hide and seek. So I believe that he has kind of positiv aura around himself.
Many women told me that he is be a heart killer because of his eyes and smile….so I am getting ready for it. So thats why I am kissing him a lot and hugging him as much as I can in order to enjoy this unique time.
Here we go, put up your hands because Carlitos reached 8 months and many improvements
Since I am lately not managing to write the posts on time, I try to remind myself by pictures what have happened that time. Though this month was special just because it was Christmas time, because of our New year Eve party with Checo-Latinos friends, because we have spend our first Christmas as only our family and also because I ended my work in Skupiner.cz and focussed fully on Lyoness.
And in the meanwhile Carlitos was growing and unbelievable improving his skills
his weight is now 8,150 Kg and still growing
He is crawling perfectly
He started to sit on 24th of December, he probably decided that to keep checking the presents is good by sitting among them as one of them
He grown one more tooth, so now he has 3 of them,
He decided also to stood up and he is about to walk
He is still very smiley baby and he will always be as I see. He loves to be caressed by me, he loves to be carried too to see what is happening
He is not that kamikaze like Edie was, he is more careful and even though he loves to observe Edie jumping and making crazy stuff, he is rather sitting and being calm. If i try to through him into the air he looks scared.
Even since little they have such different personalities. Carlitos is calmer, but bigger pain cryer. Edie while punching himself cried always just a bit and then he contined playing. Carlitos not. He wants to be hugged, touched and maybe after a while he will stopped. He is we called it “Mr. Bolistka”
His favourite toys are Tupperware boxes which I have in the kitchen shelf prepared for him and also draws. He loves to be opening them and closing all over again and again. He also loves to be hitting the floor with something hard so that it can make loud sounds.
Now he is eating 3 meals per day, He is eating a lot, more than 300g vegetables and fruits, he likes mainly everything and he preferes things which I cook for him rather than can food. And no wonder
Regarding to a sleeping. He is able to fall a sleep on his own during the night. During the day he goes once maximum twice per day. In the morning just sometimes, usually he has nap after lunch. During night he is still waking me up 3 to 4 times. He want to know if we are there. I try to feed him only 2 after midnight and then in the morning. Though he is night bird. He is able to stay until late night. During the new Year party he was up until 10pm with the smile and keeping active.
Edie and his life path
Edik is a very nice boy, growing and improving many skills
He still drives us crazy because of his crying mode, always if he does not want something he starts to cry a lot but we try to be resistant
He loves kindergarden KMC Knoflik now, so I always hear from him that we have to go to see the teachers “deme za pani ucitel” and if I am picking him up he is alway welcoming me with words “I do not want mamy, I do not want to go home” every day the same story. So I start to think that I am a Herodes.
Edicek also started to communicate more and he loves to read books. Before going to bed we try to read him every night. It is demanding but I love his gase, his staring eyes which keeps sliding on my face and are ready to hear the stories which I am creating. He likes also singing but sometimes he just ssssss mum and puts the stay quiet sign on his face. So I respect that too.
He loves to read letters so I went with him through the ABC and by linking different words to the different syllables he will soon be able to recognize most of them.
Edi has already his characteristical behavioral patterns which are also sharing with me his teachers from kinder and it is given on our family behavior. For example if he shows affection he is licking another child od he tries to kiss him/her or he tries to go close enough to touch by noses.
Affection towards Carlitos is shown also by lickig his face, chewing his hands, riding him as horse, playing with him. Doing hide and seek. And in general I have to say that if Carlitos wants to cry Edie always tries to come with something silly to cheer him up. Carlitos sometimes has total laught attacts because of Edie which makes us laugh too.
Edik is also very attached to his grandfather Josef, my dad. Always if I mention his name he want to call him, to be with him and do silly stuff in general. Dad is also a great grandfather he is teaching Edie all the forbidden fun stuff, such as “plazit jazyk” , roll the stairs on the bicycle, jump over stuff, destroy something, eat tons of chocolate etc. Simply spoiling him as grandfather. I can also see how attached they are by the invisible connection.
Edie and his dad Carlos. They are very good friends. Edicek though has many times momities so only me can help him to go on toilet, to bath him, to feed him to read him books etc. There is nobody in the world and he does not want dad to do it for him. But if I am out of home they are the best friends. Playing together and he is following Carlos nicely. But if I am at home……..achhh momiiiii ONLY YOUUUUUUUU…..I think that most of the mothers understand.
And story is over, I mean this month story, the other ones are being written by every day and I am just sometimes sad that I can not share everyday moments, because if I am just observing how my angels are growing under my hands it is unbelievable. And I believe that one morning I will turn and I will be already a grandma which will be reading this lines with grand kids and just having fun about their fathers………..
Time is something unmeasurable, unstoppable and the only thing what I am doing with Edie is to keep pace with his fast development. Many times I have been only observing my son with open mouth because he is constantly surprising me because his curiosity is opening my eyes and refreshing the daily routine.
What new things have happened?
Last measuring weight 9,2 Kg and his height 75 cm
He is in perfect mental and physical condition, is very active (sometimes too much) or at least comparable with his mom
He is eating like a king. He is able to eat similar portions like adult (I am not kidding). In the morning he is able to eat full big plate of flakes or full cup or musli, or one big bread. He loves fruit and vegetable (the most tomatoes). His favorite dish is pasta in any kind and and type. Also potatoes, he prefers meat over sweet things. He loves also little things such as peace and corn from can. He also loves soups. It is everywhere but he is trying hard.
He is eating by spoon and little fork on his own. He does not want me to feed him. of course sometimes he is adding his hands into the process too, but for 14 month baby he is very skillful.
He is drinking mostly water, does not like sweet things and juices just sometimes, depending on the fruit. He loves grapes so sometimes he makes the grape juice on his own by squeezing grapes in his little hands
Regarding to his behavior: He is very nice, active, explorative. He knows perfectly what kind of things belong to which shelf or draw. He loves to take all the things out of them and put them somewhere else. So no wander that thermomether is in the shelf for shoes, food is among the newspapers, toothpaste and toothbrush are usually in the wash machine etc. Although when he is doing something danger or destructive we need to show him his limits, and he gets very angry. He always wants to slap me into my face and yells out loudly. He got many times slaped over his bottom and over his hands. Not hardly but he needed that. 100 word of no, it is danger, you will harm yourself were not enough and sufficient. One slap worked better. Also works to hug him tight and stand his protests and lour shouting. He usually calms down in a while.
Since he was little he loves to be outside. Now even more because he is walking very well and he is exploring many things around constantly. He loves to play with dogs in the park and he is sending kisses to the ladies around him. He usually smiles to the people and wants to be center of attention.
He is saying just simple words such as mama, papa, baba, alla, alli, agua, and thank he is using his baby language something like glaglaglablue bla je ju gla gla gla
He has perfect sleeping time, He is waking up around 6 or 5:30. Now I skipped breastfeeding because he was too much used to it to wake up and be fed and he was crying for that a lot. Now since we stopped it is better. He has breakfast and after short nap around 9, than lunch and another nap around 2pm and than active time (with two snacks, bread, fruit, jogurt with frui etc) until 7 or 7:30 pm when we have dinner and after bath and around 8 or 8:30 he goes to bed and sleeps whole night. Sometimes he asks for drink nut not that often.
He has still long curly hair. We did not cut them but we should. People on the street are telling me “Oh this is such a nice girl” ups!
I am still breastfeeding him a little, Usually after afternoon nap, when he is supposed to play after. It is still our moment when we are close to each other and we can caress each other. He is able to give me also kiss after and caress my face. It is very nice and cozy moment. It will be hard to let him go totally.
I think that there are not many babies who has possibility to experience that much as Edie had. During his first year he had traveled through 2 continents, visited Czech Republic, Austria, Venezuela, and as his present for 13 monthary he went with us to Colombia. We traveled for 3 weeks and he could see and visit many new places and meet his extended family and gain new friends.
But what have changed and which improvements Edie did?
Edie has now about 10 Kg and 78 cm.
He started to walk, his first steps are very funny but he did his few passes from one place to another one without holding anything except himself
He is eating like a king, whatever I serve him he eats. He is not picky and he started to eat on his own. He wants to try new flavors, new things and he likes to experiment. His favorite dish is fruit such as pear or banana or apple. He loves cheeses and prefer pasta and rice over potato.
He has still a bit of mother milk. I am breastfeeding him only in the morning. Such as our good morning. Little bit of caressing and intimate moment. True is if he is fussy during the day or has some pain I let him a bit more with his “boobie pacifier”. And why? Because I love him a lot
He loves to be outside and explore new things. He loves water and wants to swim and play no matter on place and time. If he is in my arms he is food friend with other people but he needs to have me close by.
He learned how to blink with both eyes (this kind of pixy blink for girls) and he can through a flying kiss. Which this two tricks he is making crazy every girl
He loves music, dancing, playing instruments, doing sports, outside action. He likes travelling too because outside he is much more calmer than insight. He likes countryside and playing in the grass rather than in the beton of the city. He loves to put everything into his mouth so I have to be careful of him. He loves to climb different things such as chair, table, wardrobe, box etc.
Edie is very curious about everything. If I do not let him to do some thing or I take any object from his hands he gets very angry. He starts to cry, he put himself on the ground and starts to kick his legs and wave with his hands. He always puts his head into everything I do. He needs to see what I do. He make me company even on the toilet just to be sure what am I doing? He loves to open things, to put one thing into the another one. He is trashing any kind of dirt to the bin but than he is taking it out. If he founds something on the ground he is offering it to me as great eating. He loves to take mobile phone or remote controls and pretend that he is calling with somebody. It is such a funny thing Simply he needs to see, touch and taste.
He is sleeping much better now and more balanced. He is waking up about 5am and with my “human pacifier” he is able to sleep about 2 more hours. Than we have breakfast and after he takes a short nap. About 1 hour max from 9-10. After he has busy time of playing, gym, exploring. We are having lunch between 12-1pm depend on the breakfast time and than he is taking nap from 2:30 or 3pm about 1 hour or 1,5. Later he usually has dinner at 7, after bath and goes to bed around 8 or 8:30. depends on his daily activity. He sleeps during hole night. He just wakes up to drink once or twice per night. He takes his water and falls asleep calmly again.
Edie got two new teeth. So he has 4 front upper teeth and 2 lower.
I thought that after one year there will be not many things to write. But there is always something happening and Edie is still developing and improving so much that I decided to continue with his development reports.

That is the count down of one year life and believe me in the early age of our life this is one of the most exciting time with highest speed of development.
For me it is just like yesterday when Edie was born and I hold his little shaking and very fragile body in my arms. It is just like yesterday when I welcomed him in this world.
He was born in the Czech Republic, but his life is already connected with three continents. Because half of his prenatal age he spend with me in Thailand, after he spend 6 month is Czech and than he moved with us to Venezuela (Latin America). I would love to have his childhood also, believe me. It is colorful, adventurous and diverse.
But let me tell you what is new in his life and how we were celebrating his Bdays.
Edie has now 77 cm and 9 Kg
He is receiving mother milk only in the morning. I still keep this beautiful moment for us and hopefully I will be still able to breastfeed him for some time. Although my lactancy decreased a lot so lets see. During the day he is eating what we are eating. He has days when he eats a lot and then he is something like “poo machine”. His “outs” are more than his “ins”. But he eats about 6 times per day. Breakfast (oatmeal, or arepa, or bread with cheese, tomato or fruits), snack (creckers, fruits), lunch (all what we have), snack (fruit), snack (joghurt or compotas), dinner (some creamy soup or puree). He drinks mainly water, but also he is trying everything what we drink (natural juices, milk, flavored water – just a little I do not like to give him sweets).
He sleeps very well at night. He had his routine. At 7pm dinner, around 8 pm bathing and after we just put him to his bead. I sing a song and he falls a sleep. The time of carrying is over. He is just waking up because he is thirsty. Especially here in Venezuela is now very hot (more than 30 C) so he is asking for water. He drinks and falls a sleep again. He wakes up at 5 am and then I take him and let him drink milk and be cuddling with me in the bed.
He loves to play – there is no change and now we started to go to baby gym. He loves to spend time with other kids so I try to be out with him as much as possible. He also loves water and on the beach he spends most of his time playing in the sand. He likes his texture and taste. He is able to play nicely on xylophone, he is able to twang the strings of guitar. He loves music and now he is always swinging his body into rhythm of music. It is fun to see him dance. He tries to draw with crayons, but he is eating them too so I have to control him while doing art stuff. He loves to put tops and closures to different boxes, bottles and everything what has some top. I let him. He loves to take things off the box and put them back (this is the good part). He is rather organized. And he loves to play “hide and seek”.
His motorical skills are improving. He is drinking from his bottle with holders on his own, he tries to feed himself alone. But i have to help him to pass the spoon to his mouth. He tries to drink form glass (but mostly he is so far blowing in than drinking) and from bottle. He likes to play with cutlery, and any kids of things which are given to his hands. He is trying how the things works.
He is able to stand up on his own, to slide down from the bed and stairs, he is walking around the things by holding them and with support he is trying to walk as much as possible.
He is very social. But very attached to me as mom. Not so many people can carry him and for long time. Even he does not want to go to hands of his dad, grandma or Sandy. He is holding me tight most of the time somebody else wants to take him. So I became his personal carrier and believe me or not “he is heavy” so my back suffers a bit. But I consider it like a training. Because when I feel his little hand holding my arms I forget every pain for this feeling. He loves to greet people. He is waving on the streets to people which give him back smile. And he is flirting with nice girls on the streets and when they smile at him he became shy and hide his face on my chest. It is such a cute moment.
He is very sharing person. When he eats or chew something what he likes he always offer the things to others to eat or chew with him.
He is not talking. Although he is trying. Sometimes we are guessing that he said something in some language. But he is saying still mamma, memme (this means all other things, thirst, hunger). He is “juuuud and wowed” by things. I heard him to say baf like a dog and huiiiii like horns of the police car.
He is learning fast. I am giving him about month to learn how to walk. Lets see his improvements.
Edie is wonderful child, sometimes crying too much but it is just because he want to go out or to do things on his own and I do not let him. I strongly believe that I have to show him already now where are limits for his behavior otherwise he will be abusing our benevolence and liberty. He understand perfectly the word and meaning of “NO” but depends only on his mood if he wants to follow or not. We just have to be consistent.

Today I am going to write about new improvements which Edie did but before I have to share with you more about the title “lost virginity”.
Edie as most of the guys has common problem with his acrobystia. Since in the Czech Republic doctors are solving this issue much later, I let this topic go and was not bothered by that. But over here when we visited our new paediatrician for first time he immediately warn us that closed acrobystia can mean big issue for his future and as older he will become more painful can the opening of acrobystia (foreskin), So today he became big guy because after the application of anaesthesia cream by few soft movements of doctors hands he is not “virgin boy” any more
OK that was the entrance story but what is new in Edie’s life:
his weight and hight did not change he has still 8,1 Kg and 73 cm which is in one point alarming because he should have gained about 200 g but on the other hand I am not surprised because he is unbelievably active a. His day is full of playing, crawling and sweating.
He is eating almost everything he enjoys the most empanadas con carne mechada (local corn pancakes with shredded meat),also he likes local fruit, yoghurt, and everything what I am currently chewing or putting to my mouth.
He is still very social although he started to recognize much more who is his close person and he is very much tight to me as mum now. He can stay with strangers for some time but after the while he start to be impatient and is asking for mumie.
Edie is fast like hell. I have hard time sometimes when we are crawling together to catch him up,. But on the other hand he is still looking for me when he crawls to far from me and can not see me. He is able to crawl up the stairs, when he is having hand support there is no problem for him to stand up. But so far he can not walk and keep standing for long time.
Exactly on the day when Oliver and Kadi (our friends from Estonia came to visit us)I found in his mouth 2 teeth.So I have two wishes in one time. These are no. 1 and 2 left down. They are cute and he is not biting me.
I am still breastfeeding although I can feel that i am loosing my milk. .Now I feel more just like natural pacifier and most of the food he is getting by spoon not anymore from milk.
He is constantly repeating words such as memme mammy, papapap and babaab. We are still beting which other language he will start to use.
He started to grasp things properly with his first finger in position against the rest of other fingers.
His association also developed. He start to imitate movements which he sees and and he is taking from my hand everything what I used just to see how the things works.
Now in Venezuela is time of dengue fever, water diarrhoea and different flues so we have to be careful because of mosquito. I love my son very much and I would not be happy to have him sick.
